This movement is a heavy hitter when it comes to mobility throughout the entire body: thoracic spine, core, hips, shoulders, wrists, ankles, and neck. Not only does Scorpion demand strength and flexibility from every joint in the body, it also trains your proprioception (spatial awareness), gives you a strong foundation for inversions and is a great way to begin practicing self-expression in your movement. Have fun with it and know your body is reaping huge benefits at the same time. The second level is Plank Scorpion. This variation teaches you to move through Scorpion starting in Plank position and ending in sitting position, and from sitting back to Plank.
